Washington Scottish Pipe Band

Our Story

The Washington Scottish Pipe Band (WSPB) is a premier regimental-style pipe band in the Washington DC Metro region. Pipers, Drummers, and Highland Dancers by appointment to the St. Andrews Society of Washington DC and the American Clan Gregor Society. We operate as a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Corporation based in Falls Church, Virginia.

WSPB performs at regional events and venues throughout the year to spread appreciation of Scottish culture and music, such as the annual “Kirkin’ o’ the Tartan” at the Washington National Cathedral, the St. Andrews Society Tartan Ball, Charity events, various area town Holiday Parades, the Virginia Scottish Games, Celtic Festivals, Burns Night Suppers, Polo Matches, the Virginia Gold Cup horse races, Graduations, Clan Gatherings, Picnics, Pubs, Public Squares and Area Parks.

Attention Pipers and Drummers: new members welcome! If you are looking for a band, we are interested in experienced and new musicians. We practice in-person almost every Wednesday evening. Feel free to drop by and join us! The band hosts weekly music repertoire learning sessions online via Zoom. Instruction is available for beginners.
